Core HCM scope
Different Types of SAP HCM Modules
SAP HCM groups workforce information and processes into connected functional modules. The precise scope, terminology, availability, localization, and product direction should be confirmed for the organization’s SAP release and deployment model.
Personnel Administration (PA)
PA is the central hub for human-capital information. It maintains current digital personnel files, organizational assignments, effective-dated changes, approved attributes, documents, and responsible access in place of disconnected paper-based records.
Personnel Time Management (PT)
Personnel Time Management records employee working hours, schedules, attendance, absences, approvals, and exceptions through supported manual entry, time-tracking terminals, and automated systems.
Payroll Accounting (PY)
Payroll Accounting coordinates approved wage groups, work hours, absence intervals, salary components, master data, calculation, posting, reconciliation, and period processing. Legal regulations, updates, and localization requirements must be validated for every payroll scope.
Organizational Management (OM)
Organizational Management maps the organizational structure, including units, positions, jobs, reporting relationships, responsibilities, cost assignments, staff distribution, and planned organizational changes for authorized personnel analysis and planning.
Personnel Development (Talent Management)
Personnel Development supports human-resource development from recruitment and orientation through competencies, performance evaluations, succession, compensation, benefits, and related talent processes.
Training and Event Management (PE)
Training and Event Management supports the planning, execution, and assessment of training and educational events, including event catalogs, schedules, participants, presenters, locations, materials, completion, and reporting.
Recruitment (PB)
Recruitment supports job descriptions and requirements, online postings, applications, interview scheduling, candidate status, approvals, application tracking, documentation, and hiring handoffs while respecting privacy, retention, and access requirements.
Employee Experience Management (EEM)
Employee Experience Management gathers approved employee insights and feedback so HR professionals and managers can identify gaps in the employee experience and plan responsible responses. Survey design, anonymity, consent, and data use require clear governance.
